Sometimes we are so focused on what is going on in life that we forget to stop and take a look at those who help in ways we often can not comprehend. That is why I am stopping and taking some time to notice Police Officers that do it right and save those in need.
Officer Roger Roseberry of Vinton, IA risked his life on April 23, 2008, when he came upon a 2 story house on fire. Officer Roseberry entered the ground level of the house and found two women trying to leave, the women told the officer that there was another person in the house, but the person was trapped on the second level (where the fire was the worst,) and could not get out.
The officer then went to the front lawn and talked to the man, and tried to encourage and convince the man to jump out of the window. The man refused and said that he could not do it, after many attempts to talk the guy out of the fire, the officer went to one of the neighbors and retrieved a ladder, climbed up to the man and then helped him down to safety.
Officer Roseberry said he was doing what any one would do with evident humility. If there was only enough people with dedication and honor to supply police forces nationwide!

Ok, so I am like everyone else, AIG is paying their people hundreds of millions of dollars in bonuses, AIG took bailout money, should AIG give those bonuses, I say no, but should the Government tax an individual group for doing something it disagrees with? NO, it should stay out of the way, keep its hands off of business, and stick to making sure our borders (and everything in between,) is safe.
This is the problem with what is going on, the current administration is looking for a new boogieman to go after. AIG has a current contract (with the government,) that they are allowed to pay the bonuses after accepting the HUGE CRAPULUS bill that was supposed to fix our economy. Senator Chris Dodd, (D-Connecticut,) is the loudest one screaming about the bonuses, yet he is also the one that put the exclusion clause in the bail out contract. SO what is really going on?
The government is successfully distracting people from what is really important.
The United States has just monetized its debt, the estimate is that it will spend 1 trillion dollars to cover Securities and bonds. What does this mean? Well. . . It means that the U.S. Treasury is printing money (with no backing,) to cover our national debt. What is the immediate effect of this? Gold spiked 50 dollars an ounce when this was announced and then it jumped another 60 dollars today, and it is going to increase even more. The dollar is being destroyed by our elected representatives.
This is not the first time in history of the world that this has happened, the USSR did it, the National Socialist Party in Germany did it (NAZI PARTY,) and the most recent country to do this was Zimbabwe. Take some time and look at what is going on in Mugabe’s Zimbabwe, and how it is effecting his people. This type of action is a last ditch effort to stop the hemorrhaging of a country’s finances. The government has been spent into submission, Clinton, the Bushes, Obama, and congress is to blame. But not only them, we are to blame, we elected them in to office, and then we turned off our minds and turned on American Idol. We were told we can trust them, so we did, and that is what we get when we trust our government.
So what can we do now that we are standing on the edge of a cliff with a leash and collar on? We need to communicate. We need to tell people what is going on, not using fear, but using facts, we need to call our representatives and tell them to stop and start cutting the spending and taxes to encourage local spending. We need to tell the local news agencies to start reporting the news (all of it,) and to stop editorializing it with all the personal opinion.
Finally we need to vote in the next elections and remove the corrupt from congress, Democrat and Republican. Both sides are abusing their powers of representation, they have lost touch with the American by having their own heath care, security details, groupies, and benefits such as free gas for their cars in the basement of the Congressional Parking Facility. Rome fell because of the corruption with its senators, America is no different. When the government knows “better” than its own people, the people will suffer.
IF you feel the need to buy gold, then buy carefully, as during the great depression, FDR took all the gold that it could from the private citizenry. Should you go out and spend an enormous amount of money to buy food to store just in case? No, avoid debt, but buy a little extra every time you go to the store. Don’t get T.V. dinners, get something that will last, i.e. rice, beans, canned fruit and vegetables, or anything you can keep in a cupboard for years. Frito’s and Twinkies are not a good idea. Have a garden, seeds are available at local grocery stores, stop spending on credit cards, start pay off debt, if you are debt free, start saving money, start conserving and using less. By doing some simple steps you can make the next decade a little easier for yourself and family.
