Heroic Officer Saves Three from Fiery Death
Posted by Castel on March 19, 2009Sometimes we are so focused on what is going on in life that we forget to stop and take a look at those who help in ways we often can not comprehend. That is why I am stopping and taking some time to notice Police Officers that do it right and save those in need.
Officer Roger Roseberry of Vinton, IA risked his life on April 23, 2008, when he came upon a 2 story house on fire. Officer Roseberry entered the ground level of the house and found two women trying to leave, the women told the officer that there was another person in the house, but the person was trapped on the second level (where the fire was the worst,) and could not get out.
The officer then went to the front lawn and talked to the man, and tried to encourage and convince the man to jump out of the window. The man refused and said that he could not do it, after many attempts to talk the guy out of the fire, the officer went to one of the neighbors and retrieved a ladder, climbed up to the man and then helped him down to safety.
Officer Roseberry said he was doing what any one would do with evident humility. If there was only enough people with dedication and honor to supply police forces nationwide!
I really appreciate dedicated and brave law officers, too. I am very proud of you, too. Happy Birthday, son.
I appreciate your comments in regards to this call I responded to. If it’s of any interest to you I have again enetered a burning house. This one has an interesting twist to it. You should be able to find the article @ http://www.vintoneagle.com. This is a local nwspaper here.
